Toilet Costing You Cash?

How out of date is your toilet? If your current toilet was manufactured before 1994, it is in all probability costing you a lot of money in water. Most old toilets used 3.5 gallons for every flush (gpf). Newer low-flow toilets take only 1.6 gallons every flush and the latest low-flow designs offer the comparable amount of flushing force as old 3.5 gallon models. A Preferred Plumbing & Drain plumber can put in an effective new toilet that will spare water and save you dollars month after month.

Right now there are many innovative eco-friendly toilet styles that go even further to save water. Some styles have a two flushing system that uses just 0.9 gallons to flush liquid waste but all 1.6 gallons to flush solid waste.

Running Toilets

If you hear water running in your family toilet tank for drawn out time periods following a flush, then your toilet is leaking. It is dumping water straight down the overflow tube and throwin away as many as 200 gallons of water everyday. The main issue could be a corroded overflow pipe or flush valve assembly. Quite often the perpetrator is a shot flapper valve. Give up jiggling the handle and call Preferred Plumbing & Drain. The chances are you’ll help save more than enough moolah on your upcoming few water bills to cover the charge of the plumbing repair.

Clogs

Can there be a more hopeless experience than the instant a toilet won’t flush? Water springs up inside the bowl and starts spilling onto the ground as extreme stress sets in. If a toilet requires plunging on a constant basis, there is likely a blockage in the trap or farther down the drainpipe. It might even be a symptom of a more substantial condition even farther down the sewer line. We’re specialists at working with clogged toilets.

Showers and Tubs

Today’s bathrooms display a number of shower and tub types. Most are traditional tub & shower combinations, others are ornate with a variety of water jets, shower heads and faucet types. Preferred Plumbing & Drain licensed plumbing specialists are masters of all shower repairs, bathtub drain repairs, water pressure issues and also installations/replacements. We are the industry professionals to phone for your bathroom plumbing advice.

Faucets

How to switch off the water supply if your faucet cracks? It occurs. Faucets break, at times violently, and water begins spraying all over the wall and ground. Don’t stress and panic! Take a look under the sink for the water shut-off valves. There will be a cold water shut-off valve plus a hot water shut-off valve. They’re commonly chrome with a little oval valve handle. Simply turn the handles clockwise until finally the water ceases flowing out of the faucet. On occasion water shut-off valves freeze up from lack of use. If it is not going to budge, grab a pair of pliers and slowly and gradually turn the knob back and forth until finally the rubber seat on the inside loosens. Please don’t strain it all at once or it could very well break and trigger even larger plumbing conditions. If the valve turns freely and won’t turn the internal seat, tighten up the set screw on the face and try once more. When the valve is turning, turn off the water and call Preferred Plumbing & Drain.
